Second Co. Governor's Foot Guard Band - AUGUST 16 Print

SECOND COMPANY GOVERNOR's FOOT GUARD BAND

The Second Company Governor’s Foot Guard Band, under the direction of CW4 Lisa Pettinicchi, Bandmaster, will bring military marches, Broadway musicals, classical selections and patriotic tunes to Thomaston on Monday, August 16th.

The Second Company Governor’s Foot Guard Band, chartered in 1775, is the musical arm of one of the oldest continually active military units in the United States. Its present Commandant is Major Peter D. Laffin.

The band will perform numerous marches, selections from the Broadway Musical “Les Miserables”, “At a Dixieland Jazz Funeral” featuring a Dixieland Combo, and popular music including “Italian Festival”. A classic band arrangement of Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma” will be conducted by Staff Sgt. Robert Pettinicchi, Assistant Conductor and husband of CW4 Lisa Pettinicchi.

Other soloists with the Concert Band include PFC Angie Clark performing the “Carnival of Venice” on the euphonium, and vocalist PFC Carolyn Raming singing “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”.

Master of Ceremonies for the concert will be Thomaston resident, PFC John Cizik, who plays oboe in the band.

The concert’s finale will include the popular “Salute to the Armed Forces”, dedicated to all veterans, and John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”.
