The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston, Inc. is proud to host this year's

John Philip Sousa Festival in the town of Thomaston in the historic Seth Thomas Park

on Saturday, June 12, 2010. The festival will run from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The Plainville Wind Ensemble has organized the 3rd John Philip Sousa Festival of Bands

featuring performances by 8 concert bands performing works written by John Philip Sousa

as well as works written by other composers throughout the entire day.

John Philip Sousa IV will be the honored guest, displaying some of his works of art.

John Philip Sousa IV

John Philip Sousa, IV is the great grandson of John Philip Sousa...The March King. He resides in the beautiful state of CT, and is an artist specializing in color, shape, and design and while he does not share his Great Grandfather's incredible talents in music, he is a talented artist. Sousa travels around the world, narrating Sousa and Patriotic concerts. He has emceed The Virginia Grand Military Band, The Allentown Band, The Wheaton Municipal Band, The Saginaw Eddy Concert Band, Iowa State University, The Plainville Wind Ensemble, The New Sousa Band to mention a few and has guest conducted for the United States Marine Corp Band.

We are honored to have Mr. Sousa as the emcee at the Third John Philip Sousa Festival of Bands.
